20th Regiment Light Infantry - Dickson County Militia Officers -" William J. Nesbitt, author of The Primal Families of Yellow Creek Valley discovered a list of "Early Day Militia Officers of Dickson County" among the notes left by Mrs. John Trotwood Moore, wife of the famous former state historian of Tennessee. Most of the men listed were former residents of Yellow Creek, or vicinity."

Captain Drury Adkins Company, Dickson County, TN, 1814 - "During the war of 1812, Drury Adkins organized a company of Dickson County men to fight in that campaign. He attained the rank of Captain and commanded his troops."

Bureau of Land Management/The Land Patent Records Site - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), General Land Office (GLO) Records Automation web site. They provide live access to Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States. They also provide image access to more than two million Federal land title records for Eastern Public Land States, issued between 1820 and 1908. Images of Serial patents (land titles issued between 1908 and the mid-1960's) are currently being added to the web site. Due to organization of documents in the GLO collection, the site does not currently contain every Federal title record issued for the Public Land States.
